This task needs lot of preparations and research and good English skills, therefore it was only offered to advanced year ten students. Students will be working on their task with the support of the ESL teacher in the school.  She will be monitoring them closely because it is new hard experience for them. Students have to have good grasp of the topic pronunciation and phonology. They also have to gather information from the internet and work out what is suitable for their students; put this information together the way it’s going to be taught. They also have to have some skills of classroom managements. Then they will deliver the lessons in one week time. They have to keep a record of their experience as new young teachers. Finally they have to write a report about their experience working with ESL learners and advise fellow year ten students whether to choose an education career or look for other directions in life.

Resources needed

Students mainly will be using the internet for their research. They could use hard copies as well. Seeking teachers help would be another great input to them especially with classroom management. Any difficulty arises, the ESL teacher who is supporting them will be there to offer help.

Evaluation

These young teachers will be evaluated according to their age and experience. Therefore evaluation guidelines are kept very simple. Good preparation with some research and seeking help from teachers would be enough. Report writing would be the other area looked at a bit more seriously because year ten students are expected to know how to write reports for different purposes.
